well, last night, I was up late typing my paper and I heard the dog barking. Except her bark didn’t sound right…it started as a regular bark and would escalate to a yelp.

I yelled to my mom that I needed backup. I was putting on my coat and shoes *hell it was cold* but by the time I’d turned my back, my mom had raced out the house *donning her satin cap, her orange pj’s, and socks* I still stopped in the kitchen to get a knife…ya never know. My mom got to her just in time. But then my mom hurried back in with the dog. There were two LARGE brown dogs attackin lil ole Princess. Princess is a mix between a doxen and a terrier…she’s a small/meduim dog.

Anywho, she’s a lil shaken up. She’s got a scratch on her face and they broke the skin a little on the neck. But THANK GOD she had such a heavy duty collar cause that’s what saved her. When they went for the neck, they couldn’t get through the collar. I believe the cause of this attack was hunger. We had *not no mo* a big food thing, where the dog can stick her head in and eat *we did this cause we were away for thanksgiving*.

We gave her a bath and she had trouble breathing and was shaking but she made it through the night.

She’s now permanently a house dog. Somehow we’ll get through her freaking out in thunderstorms and barking at odd hours. But we can’t put her back out there. She’s old and I think this was the line. She’s 12yrs old…born in 1993 *sigh* She a soldier!

My cuz came over later to drop off her paper and I warned her to stay in her car. I went out *with 2 diff sized knives* and got the paper from. But at that the same time the neighbor let out her dog to pee. So I had a chance to warn her b/c she not only had pets but two small children.

Animal Control is an option but won’t do much good. We’ve got a sissy on the route and he NEVER catches anything. He’s just makin a paycheck.

Well, I’m finna be late to class.

Serenity.
