I had a really nice weekend. It started on friday with me renting a movie and ordering a pizza. My mom came home w/o the fiance and we chilled out.
Saturday was another day of chillin. I cleaned up, did some homework, helped wash the dog, washed and fro’d out my hair, and lazed around the house. My biggest accomplishment: Never putting on a bra! Those are the days! *don’t act like I’m not tellin the truth*
Sunday, I awoke bright and early *grrrrrr, can’t sleep past 9am no more*. Did some more reading and then got ready to go to the WingsFest down on Auburn Ave. Me and my momma had fun. We got down there round 12:30 cause the website said it began at 12 but they were telling people it didn’t start til 1pm and there was $2 charge to get in. Well, my momma raised sand..professionaly though…and by the time it was over, she was chillin in the shade along with the event staff! Everybody who walked up, she was tellin them it didn’t start til 1pm! Like she worked there!lol!
We finally got in and began our stroll. Me and my momma was cute, if I must say so, I was in my turqouise polo, black capri’s and flip flops and my Afro was HUGE! I made Pam Grier proud! My momma was wearing jeans and her favorite Bob Marley shirt *not one of those with the face..this one had his whole image and some song lyrics* and her Locs were on point and I must say I was envious of her retro shades…work it momma! We were a sight to behold! lol! We had ‘em breakin necks and staring with awe at the fro& loc duo! lol!
One man was walking down the street and he looked up and saw my momma and me and slowed down. I swear he was struttin to the tune of “I’m too sexxy for my shirt, too sexxy for my shirt, so sexy.it.hurts!” lol! I tole my momma to get her man, he walkin slow for her!Lol!
After going around to the vendors tryin to find one of those knit hats that would fit all my momma locs under it and failing. We ran into a woman who said she had some at her shop over on Moreland. Well, off we went. Oh by the way, the chicken was good. I had lemon-pepper wings and my momma had teriyaki wings and bar-b-que wings.
Anyway, we headed to Moreland and went to this new shoppin center. The white folks brought it to the neighborhood..heck they needed somewhere to shop, what with all the gentrification going on *smirk* Anywho, once I got over my mixed emotions bought all the white folk living smack in the middle of the “not so ghetto anymore”, I had a good time. We went to Barne’s and Noble *build it and they will come..lol* and ended with a trip to Coldstone’s Ice Cream shop thingy place lol. That’s some GOOD ice cream…Jesus wept!
I need to be more observant and learn how to flirt. Goodness *shakin head* There was a nice lookin young man working there and he was interested but I wasn’t payin not a nerrr tention. I caught him lookin at me while he was fixin my mom’s ice cream but didn’t think nothin of it. People often look and I look back and they usually just go on bout they business. Then my momma told me that he complimented my hair and her hair. Then she went on and told him I was 21. I was clueless to all of this at the time, except I heard her say 21. Hindsight is 20/20 cause he offered me a sample while I waited *didn’t do that for nobody else* He asked me was it my first time at coldstones *trying to spark up some conversation* Then he offered me and my mom coupons for our next visit *tryin to get me to come see him again* Of Course, my momma clued me in to all of the above. No wonder I’m single, I need to be more observant and smile! Grrrr at myself! lol! I think I’ll be makin a stop by Coldstone’s next sunday with one of my girlfriend’s for support! lol!
So that was my weekend. I hadn’t been home that much in awhile. Felt kinda nice. I’ll be home next weekend too, studying for finals Grrrrr. But it’s all good.
