Next Evolution

My first week was kind of hectic!

Let’s see, I’m working for two departments: Performing Arts and Medie annnnnnnnnnnd Special Collections. I’m working on this project that makes use those oooooolllld reel to reel machines to transfer the tape to CD. Anywho, I ride the bus in to work everyday and the people I seee…lawd.

I am now coming to find out that country white people are much different than city white people. The city white people know they have to at least tolerate us, not the country white folk cause they don’t see us all the time. I swear I scared two white women yesterday when I went into C.a.to and G.o.o.dys to ask for applications. Ya’ll know the school don’t pay enough and this chick needs a second job. Annnnnyway.

During the bus ride friday a group of big, sweaty, dirty, grimy group of white teenagers got on the bus…eewwwwww. I had to hold my breath because the big chunky one sat next to me and sucked up ALL my oxygen.

Church was good today. It’s so refreshing to be back in the house of da lawd. The question today was “What is it that has brought you this far?” It was a good sermon on recoginizing your problems, releasing your possessions (i.e. giving up addictions etc) and then redeming yourself by spreading the news about Jesus. Twas good. It was also youth sunday so everyone got to wear jeans to church which helped me cause I am lacking on my chutch attire.

The yummy brother I work with turns out to be 27 (looks good for his age!) lol. He also has invited me to a youth explosion revival thing at his church. The jury is still out on that but I may attend. He gave me some other chicks number to call and ask for directions….booo. lol. We’ll see.

*sigh* I’m sitting here with CABLE! Ya’ll I don’t have cable, this is lovely!
I’m also sitting here on WIRELESS…don’t have that either…almost but the router was bad…boooo
Anywho, this is going to be one interesting summer. I went to my cousins church this morning and saw some beatiful (sp?) black men. Just wonderful. Oh and the word was good too! lol. No for real, it’s great. I haven’t been back in a traditional baptist church in a long time.

This is definitely going to be an interesting summer!

Ok, I said that. I just can’t believe I’m here. This idea was cooked up in a moment of sheer boredom, when I felt the great need to get away from the familiar so that I could work on some things.

Tis a good thing.

Well it’s been a hectic week getting things in order. I’ve done sooooooooooooooo much to my car and then today the check engine light pops on as I pull in the driveway. Im too exhausted for this mess!

Anyway, other than the car, I’m ready to go.

Clothes..check!
Entertainment…check!
Sanity….check… back with you on that one….
Prayed up…check! What ya’ll know about that praying granddaddy!?!

I just have to pack odds and ends in the morning and head out!

I’ll be in the car for 6hrs with my momma, then the hotel friday night, and then another 6hrs to go. Pray my skrempf. Me and my mom are cool 95% of the time but I’m gearing up for my monthly blessing and I’ve been irritated! lol. Just today I got frustrated because I was sleepy…did I actually take myself to sleep? Nope, just sat there irritated! LOL. Lawd deliver!

I believe that’s it.
I got a room with free high speed internet, so I plan on giving ya’ll and update!
